How do you remove support marks from detailed areas like a character's face or armor without sanding away fine details?
I’ve been there, staring at a tiny nose or a piece of armor, watching the layer lines vanish along with the edges I wanted to keep. What finally worked for me was switching to lighter pressure and using small silicone tipped tools or a soft brass brush after a quick heat gun pass, but the real game changer was learning how to orient the model before printing. That’s when I started paying more attention to the original 3D Printable models from the designers, because some are pre supported in ways that leave marks on flats instead of faces. I also stopped sanding altogether and started using thin coats of filler primer, then gently wiping it off high spots before it cured. It takes longer, but you keep every eyelid and rivet. Sometimes the answer isn’t more sanding, it’s better preparation before the plate even starts moving.
